'Invisible' apple pie: how to make a simple dessert with budget ingredients
Today we suggest you make an 'invisible' apple pie. It has such an unusual name because it really is invisible on the plate due to the abundance of filling. It is light, extremely tender, and does not contain much flour.
Food blogger Valentyna Kushch shared how to make such an apple pie on Instagram. It takes only 10 minutes.
Ingredients for the crumble
- sugar - 90 g
- butter - 50 g
- flour - 100 g
Ingredients for the pie
- apples - 5 pcs
- raisins or cranberries - 50 g
- nuts - 50 g
- lime or lemon - ½ pc
- milk - 200 g
- eggs - 2 pcs
- sugar - 150 g
- vanilla sugar
- flour - 70 g
- baking powder - 5 g
- cinnamon
Method of preparation
1. Prepare the crumble: mix all the ingredients. The butter should be cold. Chop it with a knife and mix it with your hands until it becomes a homogeneous crumb.
2. For the filling, peel the apples, cut them in half and cut into thin slices (the thinner, the better)
3. You can also cut them into 4 pieces and chop them finely. Add nuts, if available, dried fruit, lime zest and juice.
4. Mix milk, 2 eggs, sugar, vanilla, flour and baking powder separately. Pour this liquid over the apples. Mix well.
5. Cover the mold with parchment and put half of the crumble on the bottom.
6. Put the apples on top. Pour the rest of the crumble over the apples. You can add more nuts.
7. Bake at 180° for one hour or until golden brown.
8. Serve completely cooled.
