How to quickly clean soot from a frying pan: a simple life hack
Pans and pots get stubborn food deposits over time, even if they are washed regularly. Grease gradually accumulates, eating into the surface, and conventional detergents cannot always cope with it. It is especially difficult to wash off a long-term layer of burnt fat, which makes the dishes not only unattractive but also unusable.
The FoodOboz editorial team shares a simple and effective way to get rid of stains without any extra effort. Just one available substance will help restore the frying pan to its original appearance.
Ammonia is an excellent tool for removing burnt-on grease. It softens even the most stubborn deposits without the need for mechanical scrubbing. Here's what you need to do:
1. Take an old kitchen towel and two strong plastic bags without holes.
2. Wrap the pan in the towel and place it in one of the bags.
3. Put an open bottle of ammonia in the same bag.
4. Tie the bag tightly and place it in a second bag for additional sealing.
5. Shake the bag well to distribute the ammonia vapor evenly.
6. Leave the frying pan in the packed form for an hour. During this time, carbon deposits and grease will soften under the influence of ammonia vapors and easily peel off the surface.
7. After the time has elapsed, remove the frying pan from the bag, wash it thoroughly with dishwashing gel, and rinse it in plenty of water.
8. The grease will come off effortlessly, and the cookware will shine clean again.
Why this method works
- Efficiency without extra effort – no need to scrub or use hard metal sponges.
- Affordability – ammonia is inexpensive and available at the pharmacy.
- Suitable for different dishes – the method can be used to clean pots, baking sheets, and other utensils.
