Fried pies are a dish we've known since childhood. Mothers or grandmothers often cooked them on weekends for breakfast, adding a variety of fillings. It's hard to compare this incredible taste with anything else, so quite often we want to cook this dish at home and get back to our childhood for a moment.
Food blogger Valentyna Kushch shared on Instagram how to make fried choux pastry pies. She claims that the pies made according to this recipe will be airy and incredibly tender.
Ingredients for brewing for 10 pcs
- Flour – 25 gr
- Sugar – 1 tbsp
- Salt – ½ tsp
- Oil – 30 ml
- Boiling water – 120 ml
Ingredients for the dough
- The brew
- Dry yeast – 4 g
- Sugar – 5 gr
- Yolk – 1 pc
- Warm water – 60 ml
- Flour – 275 g
How to prepare the brew
1. Mix all dry ingredients.
2. Add the oil.
3. Brew everything with boiling water and mix well.
How to make the dough
1. Mix yeast, sugar, egg yolk, flour, and water separately.
2. Add the tea leaves and knead the dough.
3. The dough should be a little sticky and elastic. Leave it for 1 hour.
How to form the pies
1. Divide the dough into 10 pieces.
2. Roll out each part, but not thinly.
3. Put the filling, cover it like a dumpling, and seal it.
4. Fold it over with the seam down and press a little.
5. Fry in a frying pan with vegetable oil.
