Duck legs in pomegranate sauce with apples: a dish that will be a signature dish on the New Year's table
If you don't want to cook a whole duck for the holidays, you can cook only the most popular part of it - the legs. This main dish requires much less attention than cooking a whole bird, and each family member can get their favorite piece.
Chef Olha Riabenko shared how to cook duck legs on Instagram. She claims that this dish will become the signature dish on the New Year's table.
Ingredients
- Duck legs - 6 pieces
- Narsharab sauce - 100 ml
- Soy sauce - 60 ml
- Oil - 2-3 tbsp
- Garlic - 2-3 cloves
- Corn starch - 1 tbsp + 1 tbsp water
- Pomegranate seeds
- Apples - 2 pcs
- Salt
- Pepper
- Thyme
Method of preparation
1. Mix the narsharab, soy sauce, oil and garlic.
2. Add starch diluted with water.
3. Put the duck legs in a bowl and pour the marinade over them. Leave for an hour in the refrigerator (longer is better).
4. Put the marinated legs in a baking dish, pour the marinade over them, add one chopped apple and a few sprigs of thyme.
5. Put it in the oven preheated to 180 degrees for 1 hour.
6. Take out the legs and juice and sauce in which it is cooked, remove the thyme and add another chopped apple. Put back in the oven. Bake for another 15 minutes.
7. Before serving, add pomegranate seeds and garnish with rosemary if desired.
