Cult grated cherry pie for tea: how to prepare the popular dessert
Grated pie is a popular dessert based on shortcrust pastry and juicy berry filling. This dessert is perfect for tea. It is also very convenient to take it with you as a gift and, moreover, it stays fresh for a long time.
The idea of making grated cherry pie for tea was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Daria with the nickname tuleneva.bakery. Any frozen berries will do.
Ingredients for the dough:
- butter (grated) - 180 g
- eggs - 2 pcs
- sour cream - 30 g
- sugar - 100 g
- flour - 420 g
- baking powder - 8 g
- salt - 2 g
- vanilla sugar (or vanilla paste) - 10 g
Ingredients for the filling:
- cherries (frozen) - 300 g
- sugar - 100 g
- corn starch - 20 g
Method of preparation:
1. Sift flour into a bowl, add baking powder, sugar and salt.
2. Add grated butter.
3. Rub everything to crumbs with your hands.
4. Add eggs, sour cream and vanilla.
5. Knead soft dough.
6. Put the dough in the freezer.
7. For the filling, mix cherries, sugar and starch. Bring to a boil, cook for 1 minute after boiling and cool.
8. Grate the frozen dough.
9. Put half of the dough into the mold, spread the filling on top, then cover with the second part of the dough.
10. Bake at 180°C for about 25 minutes until the cake is golden brown.
