Cottage cheese pancakes in poppy seed sauce: how to prepare a traditional dish in a new way
Cottage cheese pancakes or syrnyky are always a good idea for breakfast. This dish can be served with sour cream or your favorite jam. Or you can go even further and make an incredibly delicious sauce.
Food blogger Tetiana Yushyna shared her recipe for syrnyky in poppy seed sauce. She provided the exact proportions and cooking method on Instagram.
Ingredients
- cottage cheese - 400 g
- egg - 1 pc
- salt
- sugar
- flour - 2-3 tbsp
Ingredients for the sauce
- poppy seeds - 30 g
- boiling water - 40 ml
- sugar - 50-70 g
- sour cream - 300 g
Method of preparation.
1. Pour boiling water over the poppy seeds.
2. Grind the cottage cheese through a sieve or beat with a blender.
3. Add egg, salt, sugar, and flour to cottage cheese and knead the dough.
4. Form syrnyky and fry on both sides until golden brown.
5. Add sugar and sour cream to the poppy seeds, put on fire and heat until the sugar melts. Do not bring to a boil.
6. Put the syrnyky in a baking dish, pour the sauce over and bake at 180-degree oven for 25 minutes.
