Hysteria over drone strikes grows: Russia accuses Budanov and other Ukrainian military leaders of "terrorism"

In Russia, after successful drone strikes on Russian territory, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation charged in absentia the head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, and other representatives of the country's top military command with "terrorism." In addition to the head of Ukraine's military intelligence, "suspicion" was announced to Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk and Commander of the Ukrainian Navy Oleksiy Neizhpapa, and the occupiers also labeled the commander of the 383rd separate regiment of remotely piloted aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force Serhiy Burdeniuk as a "terrorist."

The Russian Investigative Committee also stated that they would put Ukrainian military leaders on the wanted list and intend to arrest them, also in absentia. This was reported by Russian media.

Thus, the aggressor state called the attacks on military targets in the Russian Federation and the occupied territories of Ukraine "terrorism." Representatives of the Ukrainian military command were "suspected" by the Russian Investigative Committee under the article "terrorist act".

"Charges in absentia of committing crimes under subpara. "a", "c" of Part 2 of Art. 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (terrorist act), were presented to the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kirill Budanov, the commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykola Oleshchuk, the commander of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexei Neizhpapa, the commander of the 383rd separate regiment of remotely piloted aircraft of the Air Force of Ukraine Sergey Burdenyuk," the Russian Investigative Committee said.

According to the occupiers' estimates, "Ukraine's top military leadership has organized 100 air strikes with drones on the territory of the Russian Federation" since the spring of 2022.

"The investigation has gathered evidence that it was under their leadership that more than 100 air strikes were carried out between April 2022 and September 2023 using aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles on the territory of Moscow and Moscow region, the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol (occupied by Russia since 2014 - Ed.), Rostov, Belgorod, Bryansk regions and a number of other regions of the country," the Russian Investigative Committee said.

However, the aggressor state did not limit itself to the listed military commanders of Ukraine. They also labeled other servicemen of our country as "terrorists".

"It has also been established that the perpetrators involved their subordinate servicemen in committing crimes. In the near future, the investigation plans to put them on the wanted list and choose a preventive measure in the form of detention in absentia," the Russian Investigative Committee said.

At the same time, as journalists of the opposition Russian media outlet ASTRA noted, the Russian Investigative Committee did not say whether Russia's strikes on Ukraine or the invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops would be investigated.

As a reminder, on October 1, the Russian Federation reported downed drones, but explosions were heard in Shebekino and Sochi that day, and a factory was reported blown up in Smolensk.

According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, three of the four drones hit the plant that produces Kh-59 missiles in Smolensk. They accurately hit the buildings of the Russian military enterprise, causing significant damage to its production facilities.

And near Sochi, the Main Directorate of Intelligence successfully attacked a helicopter parking lot in Adler, while in Bryansk it flew to the airfield.
