Danilov: everything will be decided at the last moment in the issue of the Ukrainian Armed Forces counter-offensive

The Ukrainian Defence Forces will act unexpectedly in launching a counter-offensive, with specific combat tasks and attack directions being decided at the last minute. Therefore, all assumptions about any plans of our military are currently unfounded.

This was stated by Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council. During a national telethon, he commented on the news of the detention in the United States of a suspect in the leak of classified Pentagon documents, which, among other things, concerned support for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Recall that US law enforcement agencies have officially charged 21-year-old US Air Force National Guard serviceman Jack Teixeira with leaking documents. At the same time, the National Security and Defence Council says that he could not have published any specific data on the future actions of the Ukrainian army online.

Danilov claims that the Defence Forces have not one or even four options for the development of events at the front. According to him, the calculations depend on many factors and small details that the military assesses and takes into account on a daily basis.

"We are aware of all the processes taking place at the frontline. All assumptions about the plans of the Ukrainian military, including a counter-offensive, have no basis in fact. This will all be decided at the last moment, when the final decision is made," explained the NSDC Secretary.

In addition, he stressed that citizens should understand that in Ukraine, which has been fighting Russian aggression for many years, discussions cannot be limited to the expected counter-offensive. He reminded that Ukrainians must liberate all the territories of their state up to the 1991 borders.

"Until we do this, until our Armed Forces do this, we cannot talk about ending the war," Danilov concluded.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Roman Svitan, a colonel in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, spoke about the "fog of war" amid news of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' counteroffensive. The military expert also pointed to the likely timing of its start, adding that the weather is currently affecting attack capabilities.
