Ukrainian judoka Daria Bilodid received a disqualifying hansoku-make score at the Grand Slam in Antalya, Turkey. The 22-year-old from Kyiv used a prohibited technique in the semi-final match in the 57 kg weight category against the current world champion Rafaela Silva from Brazil, for which she was punished by the judges.

At one point in the fight, the Ukrainian grabbed her opponent's arm incorrectly, which the judges interpreted as "a dangerous impact on the elbow joint". Realising what she was doing wrong, Daria immediately released the grip, but the experienced Brazilian showed how much she was hurting by screaming and grabbing the "damaged area".

It should be noted that this was the second consecutive disqualification for our two-time world champion. On February 16, she also ended her performance at the Grand Slam in Tel Aviv, Israel, ahead of schedule.

"The second competition, the same mistake. When Dasha gets a little tired, her movements become not clear enough, and this leads to such mistakes," Vitaliy Dubrova, head coach of the Ukrainian judo team, commented on the situation to Suspilne.
