Darya Gennadyevna Beloded is the Ukrainian judo champion of Europe and the world.
Brief Biography
Daria Beloded was born in Kiev, October 10, 2000, in the family of the bronze medalist of the World Cup and two-time European judo champion Gennady Beloded.
She took up sports at the age of four, when her parents sent her to the gymnastics group. However, at the age of six she decided to do judo on her own. Since then she was coached by her own parents.
At the age of 15, she won the championship of Ukraine, and then won two gold medals in a row - at the European Youth Championship and the World Judo Cadet Championship.
In 2017 she made her debut in the "adult" category, winning the Continental Cup in Prague.
A month later Darya Beloded became the European champion, defeating the Olympic judoka from Russia Irina Dolgova at the championship in Warsaw.
In 2018, the athlete won the world championship, which was held in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku. There she won the title of the youngest world judo champion among women and men.
Personal Life
Daria Beloded received her secondary education in one of the lyceums in Kiev and is now studying at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiev in the part-time department of journalism.
She is dating Fabio Basile, an Italian judoka, a champion of the 2016 Olympic Games.
