Azov chief of staff suggests SBU take Lomachenko for high treason and exchange him to Russia as a new Medvedchuk

The chief of staff of the Azov regiment, Bohdan Tavr Krotevych, reacted sharply to the publications of former world champion in three weight categories Vasyl Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KOs) with sermons by a bishop of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate. In a video posted by the boxer on his Instagram, Metropolitan Longin (Mikhail Zhar) accuses Ukraine of starting a war against the church.

The defender of Azovstal suggested on his Twitter account that Lomachenko could become a new Medvedchuk.

"Vasya Lomachenko is a future 'Medvedchuk', whose exchange could free many of our guys from captivity. Just think about it," Krotevych wrote on social media.

On his Instagram, Krotevych tagged the Security Service of Ukraine.

"If he is taken for high treason, many Ukrainian patriots who are in captivity can be exchanged for him," the military man added.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Ukrainians on social media reacted strongly to the first video, accusing Lomachenko of aiding the Russian occupiers and calling the situation a disgrace. On January 1, Vasyl posted a new post with another excerpt from the same speech.

It is worth noting that the famous Ukrainian tennis player Serhiy Stakhovsky was also outraged by the actions of his compatriot. Serhiy, who is currently serving in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, called Lomachenko a moron.
