You don't have to clean the windows all the time: how to avoid streaks
In summer, windows need to be cleaned more often, as dust and dirt quickly adhere to the clear glass surfaces. The degree of contamination has a direct impact on the quality of light and appearance.
When not to wash windows
Incorrect washing technique, poor quality products or fluffy sponges lead to streaks on the glass.
Cleaning expert and Influencer Lynsey Crombie told us that window cleaning should not be done in sunny weather, especially during peak heat hours. It is best to clean in windless and overcast weather.
Heat will cause streaks to appear. The explanation is simple: the detergent will dry too quickly, leaving traces, stains and streaks and you simply do not have time to wipe it thoroughly. Even polishing and microfiber cloths will not help in this case.
Effective remedy for streaks
To prepare an effective solution for washing glass without streaks you will need:
- soap or dishwashing detergent;
- white vinegar.
"The best way to clean glass is to use warm soapy water with white vinegar added," Lindsay noted.
White vinegar is often used as a cleaning and sanitizing agent, as it contains active acids that quickly deal with dirt. It works effectively on windows by breaking down the greasy film that usually accumulates on glass.
A small amount of detergent is added to the mixture if a lot of dirt has accumulated on the window. You can simply dilute vinegar with water in a ratio of 2:1 and spray the glass.
By the way, there is one curious method that will literally repel dust from the glass. Cleaning experts recommend using laundry conditioner as the main ingredient. In order to ensure that no dust remains on the glass, you should first wash the windows in the usual way. You don't have to worry about streaks as the conditioner will cope with them.
