List of items you should stop wearing in 2024

Fashion is capricious. Collections are constantly changing, new trends are emerging, and we haven't even had time to get used to the previous ones. Traditionally, stylists, fashion magazines, and experts present lists of trends and anti-trends for the coming year. This helps us to navigate the fashion world and make additions to our individual style in accordance with the latest trends. My name is Anna Romanko, I'm a stylist, and I know what you definitely shouldn't buy in 2024.

Children's prints/bright colors

Color and print are powerful expressive tools in fashion, but it is important to balance their use.

Neon, unnatural, bright colors can be too "expressive", cheapen the look and attract excessive attention. I advise you to focus on natural, classic colors in your basic wardrobe.

As for prints, small cartoon images create a childish or immature look. Prints with floral motifs or abstract patterns, on the other hand, add elegance and originality to the look. In addition, grunge-style clothes with light scuffs give the impression as if you did not try to look cool at all, as if this is your natural state.

Knee-length coat

A coat is a relevant classic piece of an outerwear that never goes out of style.

However, its styles and cuts change under the influence of fashion trends. For example, the knee-length coat has given way to a straight maxi coat. This new trend makes it easier to create a variety of combinations and always look stylish. A straight maxi coat is an ally for any occasion: from office meetings to informal events.

It can be combined with skirts, pants or dresses of different styles.

Tight pantsuit

Modern fashion combines comfort and style, and this also applies to pantsuits.

Tight pantsuits, which were popular about five years ago, have now lost their relevance. Pants and jackets with a straight cut or oversized silhouette are now at the peak of popularity. These models are comfortable, hide figure flaws, slim your silhouette and do not hinder your movements.

Straight trousers and jackets create a relaxed look in which a woman feels comfortable and free.

High stilettos

High platform stilettos, which were popular some time ago, have now lost their appeal. Fashion trends are now dominated by stable, chunky heels and elegant boots that combine comfort and style. I am very happy about this change because being a woman does not mean "suffering" and dreaming of getting home as soon as possible to take the shoes off your feet. It is the stable heels that will make you feel comfortable throughout the day.

Body tights

Recently, Milan Fashion Week showed interesting alternatives to replace this highly controversial wardrobe item. At the forefront are bright translucent tights with patterns, as well as black, dark brown and white stockings, which will soon become the favorite accessories of women, fill the streets of cities and finally leave this flesh-colored nylon in the past.

Bright red tights are also extremely popular at the moment, flying off the shelves. This bright accent adds vitality, optimism and expressiveness to any look, creating a fascinating contrast and attracting all eyes.

Skinny jeans

Skinny jeans are losing their popularity as the trend for comfort and free movement spreads.

Jeans that fit every centimeter of the skin emphasize even minimal figure flaws.

Instead of skinny jeans, I advise you to replenish your wardrobe with high-waisted or mid-rise models with a loose fit. This way you can visually add a few centimeters to your height.

It's also important to choose jeans that don't shorten so as not to make your legs look smaller.

Sheepskin coats with white fur trim

As I said before, fashion is constantly evolving, and new trends have emerged even in such a somewhat traditional area of the wardrobe as sheepskin coats. Be careful, the "classic" brown and black models with contrasting light fur trim are not relevant, moreover, they are in the anti-trends of 2024. Instead of such models, sheepskin coats with alternative fur trim and monochrome models that attract attention with a straight or asymmetrical cut, available in pastel or even bright colors, are in fashion.

And that's it.

I've told you about all the things that have inevitably left the list of trends, and it makes no sense to spend money on their purchase in 2024.
