Tap water is not of the best quality, especially in large cities. Experienced growers note that it can negatively affect the growth and development of indoor plants.

Tap water contains a lot of metal residues that are genuinely harmful to flowers and the root system. OBOZREVATEL has investigated what can be added to the water for watering indoor flowers.

If you want to grow healthy and lush indoor plants, experts advise trying a few life hacks. Simple natural ingredients can even extend the flowering period.

The first and most effective ingredient is apple cider vinegar. Some social media users note that you can use ordinary table vinegar, but it is still better to give preference to apple cider vinegar.

Add a few drops (optimal range: 3-5, but not more than 10) of apple cider vinegar to the water for irrigation and water the roots of indoor plants.

Lemon juice can also be used as an effective substitute. The procedure is similar: a few drops per standard dose of water when watering.

Please note, however, that these life hacks can only be used if the plants are loyal to acidic soil and do not require conditions with an exceptionally neutral pH. For picky flowers, you can simply use boiled water that has cooled down.

By the way, spring and early summer are the perfect time to repot indoor plants. It's very easy to do: you just need to remove the old soil, spread the roots on a mound of fresh soil, and add soil on top. Read the article to learn how to fertilize indoor flowers when transplanting.
