Tomato seedlings

To grow high-quality tomato seedlings, you should first pay attention to a few nuances. Tomatoes need peat, baking powder, and fertilizers.

Often, gardeners try to figure out the right watering regimen or constantly rearrange containers with seedlings, looking for the best place. In the end, they realize that it's all in vain as the seedlings grow weak. Read the OBOZ.UA article to find out what soil to plant tomato seedlings in and how to fertilize them.

Sawdust and peat fertilizer

You will need:

  • peat
  • rotten sawdust
  • humus
  • ammonium nitrate
  • river sand
  • superphosphate

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Peat, sawdust and humus should be mixed in a ratio of 3:1:0.5.
  2. Add 3 liters of river sand, 10 grams of ammonium nitrate, and a few grams of superphosphate to 10 liters of the mixture.

Wood ash and potassium sulfate fertilizer

You will need:

  • peat
  • turf soil
  • humus
  • wood ash
  • potassium sulfate
  • superphosphate

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Mix peat, turf soil, and humus in equal amounts.
  2. Add 1.5 cups of ash, 3 tablespoons of superphosphate, 1 tablespoon of potassium sulfate (or 1 teaspoon of urea) to the mixture.

Additional options for fertilizers

The soil needs nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizers. Nitrogen will help to build up green mass, while phosphorus and potassium stimulate the development of the root system.

If you apply fertilizer to the soil immediately before sowing the seedlings, tomatoes will not need additional fertilization, and the plants will grow healthy and strong.

Experienced gardeners also advise adding bird droppings when planting.

Pure wood ash is rich in minerals and trace elements necessary for plant growth.
