In response, Peskov referred to the Russian constitution, where the occupiers have inscribed Crimea, Kherson, Zaporizhzhya, Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine as theirs.

According to him, the Russian Federation "wants to control all those regions that are currently written in the country's constitution as Russian".

Moreover, the Kremlin speaker took to threatening to continue the war against Ukraine "in the foreseeable future."

"There are currently no grounds for a peace agreement with Kyiv, the operation in Ukraine will continue in the foreseeable future," he said.
