The media showed a unique video of a shorty Putin hiding his face and joking during a vacation in the 90s in Finland
The Finnish broadcaster Yle has released a collection of videos featuring current Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and former St. Petersburg Mayor Anatoly Sobchak. The footage was filmed in the early 1990s in Finland, when Russia's chief war criminal served as chairman of the St. Petersburg City Hall's Committee on External Relations.
The appearance of the dictator in the early 90s does not correspond to the public image that Putin has been systematically creating for himself for several decades. This is reported by Yle (to watch the video, scroll to the bottom of the page).
The video was filmed at a luxury Thomesto Group villa in southern Finland. Before becoming a dictator and taking over the Kremlin for decades, Putin did not care much about his image. He is often shown wearing a cheap tracksuit and a bad hairstyle.
According to Luke Harding, a Russia expert and former Moscow correspondent for the British newspaper The Guardian, the most surprising thing is that Putin is smiling and looking like a human being, not the terrifying figure he has become over the years in power.
At the same time, in the background of Sobchak, his ex-wife Lyudmila, and other people in the video, Putin is stiff and tries not to show emotion. A number of shots show only one moment when the dictator allowed himself to laugh - during a game of table tennis.
Harding also noted that Putin is paranoid about his private life and has not released a single video that would not be designed to raise the "prestige" of the dictator.
However, thanks to the video obtained by Yle, Putin could not control what was filmed and what was not, and how well he looked. According to Harding, the video also shows how small Putin is.
By the way, in one video, the future dictator could not contain his emotions and made a joke. When Sobchak was cutting a huge piece of meat, Putin revealed that the video could now be sold to show beggarly Russians how the mayor of St. Petersburg eats.
As a reminder, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, has again hinted at the existence of dictator Vladimir Putin's doubles. According to him, the Kremlin dictator, familiar to the viewer, was last seen in public in 2022, around June 26.
As OBOZREVATEL previously wrote, on August 22, the Kremlin dictator suddenly forgot which hand he was wearing at a meeting of the Russian Council for Strategic Development and National Projects. The curious moment was caught on video.
