Spinner machines for the production of tank shells have been seized by the Russian Federation: 14 companies declared international sponsors of war

The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) has added 14 importers of machine tools from the German manufacturer Spinner to the list of international sponsors of war. Being on the list makes the companies candidates for sanctions.

Importers of Spinner products were added to the "War and Sanctions" list as international sponsors of war on September 19. The list is compiled by the NACP jointly with the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.

"The decision was made after receiving information about the delivery of a machine from the production facilities of the plant in Turkey of the German manufacturer Spinner for the Russian JSC "Sirovsky Mechanical Plant" (SMZ)," the NAPC explained.

The machine has already been shipped from Turkey. It is expected that Russia will receive it at the end of September.

It is noted that the machine is used in Russia for the production of tank fragmentation shells. The Ukrainian side has already officially informed the German company that its machine will now be used to produce ammunition used by Russia to attack Ukraine.

The Ukrainian agency has estimated that since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the volume of Spinner equipment imported into the aggressor country has increased by more than 500%. The supply was facilitated by the following companies (they have been declared sponsors of the war):

International war sponsor - what it means for business

The companies included in the list of international sponsors of war are included in the World-Check database. This does not threaten them with closure, but the database is used worldwide to identify and manage financial, regulatory and reputational risks. In addition, official agencies are actively calling for a boycott of the products of such companies.

However, all the companies on the list are still operating in Ukraine, as the NACP does not have the authority to close international businesses or restrict their operations. But if the National Security and Defense Council imposes sanctions against such businesses, the situation may change.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, one of the candidates for inclusion in the list of war sponsors was the popular Italian mattress manufacturer Magniflex. The company openly continues to operate and pay taxes in Russia.
