Russian media launch fake news that Britney Spears supported Russia

The Ukrainian NGO Detector Media pointed out the falsity of another absurd news story spread by the Russian media. The propagandists wrote that the world-famous American singer Britney Spears had allegedly supported a terrorist country by condemning Ukraine and NATO, after which her Instagram account was blocked.

The news turned out to be fake. The Kremlin's mouthpieces took advantage of the fact that Spears' account had indeed disappeared from the social network and misinformed the population, which had already been traumatised by propaganda for a long time. The Detector Media Telegram channel provided arguments pointing to the fraud.

In an old post, according to the Russian pseudo-journalists, the pop diva wrote that "the coverage of the crisis in Ukraine in the Western media has a single purpose - to fuel the war". Spears allegedly claimed that she "does not believe in freedom from Western hegemony and the capitalist oligarchs who control the American media".

However, the most interesting thing is that in the screenshot provided by the Russian media, which is obviously fake, the singer accuses Ukraine of "bombing Donbas since 2014 and no one said a word". It is not difficult to recognise these words as a quote from a propaganda manual. The authors of the fake news went a little overboard when they came up with Spears' remarks to demonstrate her "anti-Ukrainian" stance.

Analysts of The Insider project found out that the post was fake, and no one blocked the star's Instagram page - she deleted it herself, which she does regularly.

"In addition, the fact that no popular American show business media (for example, TMZ or Entertainment Tonight) wrote about the post indicates that it is fake," the analysts said.

Earlier, OBOZREVATEL wrote that the Russian occupiers had launched another fake. The video, which is circulating online, shows that the "Ukrainians" stopped the car of a woman with a child and began to threaten them.
