Mulching is a beneficial procedure for plants. However, with strawberries, it should be done very carefully. In certain periods, mulching will not only fail to bring any benefit but can also cause harm.

So, experts do not recommend mulching strawberries during the flowering period. This way, the soil will warm up less effectively, and the root system will not feel very comfortable in a humid and cool environment. It will grow and develop worse. Also, if mulching is carried out during flowering, all the beneficial vitamins and minerals will remain on the surface, and only a small part will reach the roots.
