In Kyiv, it was proposed to rename Vozdukhoflotski Avenue in honor of the Ukrainian air defense forces

In Kyiv, it was proposed to rename Vozdukhoflotsky Avenue to Air Defense Avenue. According to the initiator of this proposal, in this way, it would be possible to pay tribute to the defenders of the skies of Ukraine.

An appropriate petition has been registered on the website of the Kyiv Council. The electronic appeal must gain 6 thousand votes in order to be considered by the capital's authorities.

As the author of the document noted, there has been a discussion lately in Kyiv regarding the renaming of Vozdukhoflotski Avenue. In particular, variants of such names as NATO Prospect or EU Prospect are offered.

"However, we definitely have a candidate who just needs to be immortalized on the city map where the street is connected with military affairs and aviation. It's our glorious, world's best air defense force. Thanks to them we can sleep peacefully today and have suffered relatively few losses recently," stressed the initiator of the petition.

Let us remind you that thanks to the work of air defense units in Kyiv for more than two last months, not a single enemy missile or drone has reached its target. In total, since the beginning of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, 740 air-raid alarms have been sounded in the capital.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, today Kyiv's air defense is carried out according to a multilevel echelon principle. This is not only anti-aircraft missile systems of small and medium action, but mobile fire groups.
