"For example, if you're putting things in order for an upcoming move, focus on getting rid of anything you don't want to pick up, move, and decide later if you need that item. If you have guests coming over, focus on getting the rooms they will be staying in and using in order. If you're short on space, you should focus on uncluttering drawers, closets and other storage areas to make room for things that are anywhere but where they should be," the expert advises.

"If you want to get rid of junk quickly, it has to be centered!" - Grant noted.

She added that putting your home in order can be a real challenge. That's why the expert advises to "assign a reward" for completing the job. This is, of course, not a material reward, but a realization of the convenience or pleasure that all this work will bring in the end.

"Perhaps it's actually the pleasure of having your guests come to visit or have a party at your home. Or perhaps you may be able to renovate part of your home afterwards. It could even be selling your property for a better price or saving money on moving," the expert explained.
