How long you can leave a cat at home: expert explains

Newsweek has published tips from cat behavior expert Stephen Quandt on this issue. There are certain restrictions on the time when felines can be alone at home.

According to him, cats can be left for only one day, provided that the owners have taken care of food and water for the pet. It is also worth asking someone to visit the furry from time to time and check if everything is fine.

If you don't have this option, you should buy special automatic feeders for food and water. Such dishes are equipped with a timer that can be set at a certain time and the cat will be fed.

Still, you need to make sure that the cat is used to this system and knows when the food is coming.

Most pets feel fine alone within two days, but this does not apply to small kittens and old or sick cats. They need special care and attention.
