Experts have determined the best inexpensive 2023 sedan from those that can be bought new on the market today. Four popular modern models were compared.

Car and Driver experts decided to hold a competition between inexpensive sedans of the mass segment. Premium expensive cars were not included. They chose between the Toyota Camry, Subaru Legacy, Honda Accord and Hyundai Sonata.

Ranking of the 2023 low-cost sedans:

1. Honda Accord;
2. Hyundai Sonata;
3. Toyota Camry;
4. Subaru Legacy.

The Honda Accord was the winner in rigorous testing and head-to-head comparisons. The authors appreciated the smooth ride and low fuel consumption. They noted a limited list of equipment and cheap finishing materials as disadvantages.

The other three models were criticized for unpleasant handling. Hyundai Sonata brakes were not effective enough, while Toyota Camry had poor noise insulation. Subaru Legacy's disadvantage is high cost in comparison with competitors. The advangages are powerful motors and spacious interior.

The Camry's advantages was a quality assembly. Sonata sedan was noted for its stylish design and good interior decoration.
