November is a good time to apply nutrients, because this way you will create reserves for the plant that it will need in the spring. Currants spend a lot of "energy" and "strength" on budding and forming new leaves, and additional fertilization will facilitate this process.

The fertilizer must contain potassium, phosphorus and other necessary substances for plant development. This will help to avoid diseases and pests.

To make a proper and nutritious fertilizer, you will need compost, wood ash, and potassium sulfate.

Mix one bucket of compost or humus with one cup of wood ash and 1/2 cup of potassium sulfate. Also add a little water to make a liquid mixture. Mix everything thoroughly and spread it evenly around the roots, forming a circle about 20-30 centimeters from the stems.

Then you need to moisten the soil well so that the fertilizer penetrates the soil faster and the currants can receive nutrients.
