Some of Hollywood stars believe that the main thing is to star in a movie. Watching it is not necessary at all. Some are too self-critical of their work, others simply do not see the point in it.

Angelina Jolie, Tom Hanks, Nicole Kidman, Johnny Depp and others. OBOZREVATEL tells why they do not watch movies with themselves.

Tom Hanks

Hanks, who won several Oscars for the films "Forrest Gump" and "Philadelphia", believes that watching his own movies is a "terrible mistake".

"You never learn what to do. You only sort of learn what not to do. The thing about watching old movies is that they don't change," he told ABC News.

Nicole Kidman

Kidman watched only "Moulin Rouge" and "Australia" wih herself, the actress admitted in an interview with the Daily Mail.

"I don't usually watch my movies, but because of Baz (Baz Luhrmann, Australian director. - Ed.) I had to watch it ("Australia". - Ed.). I also saw "Moulin Rouge." I've seen these two movies in my entire career," the star said.

Angelina Jolie

Jolie says she enjoys the process of making her movies more than watching them. Back in 2009, the actress revealed that she likes to watch her then-husband Brad Pitt's work.

"I enjoy the process of making them (movies. - Ed.) more than watching them. I don't really like watching movies. I love watching Brad's movies," she told Good Morning America.

Reese Witherspoon

The Oscar winner for "Walk the Line" admits she mentally blocks out every movie she's ever starred in.

"I have absolute amnesia for every movie I've ever been in. I won't watch them because if I did, I'd go into a state of self-loathing. Sometimes I'll come across a part and I'll look at it and think, 'I remember absolutely nothing about this.' It's really weird," Witherspoon told the Daily Express.

Gwyneth Paltrow

Paltrow told USA Today that she has a hard time seeing herself on screen. According to her, the only movie she can still watch is Wes Anderson's 2001 drama "The Royal Tenenbaums".

"I really, really, really hate seeing myself in movies. It's the only scene I can watch in my entire career," she stated.

Joaquin Phoenix

Phoenix, whom The New York Times proclaimed "one of the greatest actors of the 21st century," is known for hating to watch movies with himself.

"Paul Thomas Anderson (director. - Ed.) made me watch 'The Master' and I also watched 'Her'. Those are the only two movies I've seen. I'm still struggling with it..." he told Time Out London in an interview.

Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp, like many other actors, doesn't like seeing himself on screen. In an interview with the Independent, he said that he can never watch movies with his participation.

"When my work on a movie is done, it's no longer my business. I stay as far away as possible... I don't like to watch myself," he explained.

As OBOZREVATEL reported, three Ukrainian comedies were released on Netflix at once. "Neighbor", "Swingers" and "Swingers 2" are now available for 19 countries in Eastern and Central Europe.
