What to eat for a snack and can you include coffee: nutritionist dispels myths
For many people, snacks are an integral part of their diet. However, you need to remember that ideally, they should not replace the main meal as it is better to give preference to something light and at the same time satisfying.
A nutritionist with the nickname Victoria (viktoria_radostnaya) told us on her Instagram page what we can eat for a snack and how many of them we should have per day.
According to the expert, if you eat snacks, you should have a maximum of two per day. The first one is three hours after breakfast, the second one is three hours after lunch. In the first case, the snack should contain carbohydrates, and in the second - proteins and fat.
For a first snack, you can get:
- fruit or dried fruit;
- sugar-free kefir or yogurt (you can supplement it with home frozen berries if you wish)
- baked apples with cinnamon;
- cottage cheese with fruit;
- marshmallows or dark chocolate;
- latte, cappuccino, and any other coffee drink with cream or milk (you can drink them as they are also considered a healthy snack).
For a second snack, you can get:
- hard cheese or any other type of cheese;
- nuts;
- avocado;
- shrimp;
- mussels;
- olives;
- egg and vegetables up to 100 g.
The expert notes that people with insulin resistance should avoid snacks at all.
