How to replace baking powder in baking: effective methods
Baking powder is used in baking to make flour products airy, tall, and fluffy. If you don't have this ingredient at hand at the right time, it's not a problem. You can replace the baking powder with other products or make it yourself.
The FoodOboz editorial team will tell you what you can replace baking powder with and how to make it at home. The information was published by Bene Gusto.
Option 1.
Most often, instead of baking powder, housewives use baking soda, which is quenched with vinegar. This is a good option if you immediately put the dough in the oven afterward because the baking soda takes effect immediately. At the same time, it is important not to overdo it with the amount of baking powder, as this can significantly spoil the taste of the finished product.
You can also leave out the baking soda if you have acidic foods: kefir, yogurt, juices and berry puree, honey, cocoa, dark chocolate, citric acid, and wine.
Option 2
You can also make baking powder yourself. You will need the following ingredients:
- wheat flour - 12 tsp.
- baking soda - 5 tsp.
- citric acid - 3 tsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Put the ingredients in a dry jar and mix.
For baking, use homemade baking powder in the following proportions: 500 g of flour/20 g of baking powder.
