Budget mayonnaise salad with sprats: how to prepare a spectacular dish
If you are looking for a worthy replacement for popular salads on a festive table, sprat salad is a great alternative. It is very effective, bright and has a rich flavor. Its main advantage is that it is budget-friendly and can be prepared with a variety of ingredients: eggs, melted cheese, crackers, and even potatoes.
Food blogger Yuliia Mikulich shared a recipe for a budget mayonnaise salad with sprats on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- potatoes - 2 pcs. (330 g, weight of raw unpeeled)
- carrots - 1 pc. (250 g, weight of raw unpeeled)
- eggs - 4 pcs.
- onions - 50 g
- sprats - 125 g (weight of fish without oil)
- pickled cucumbers - 3 pcs. (80 g)
- processed cheese - 2 pcs. 70 g each
- mayonnaise
- salt
Method of preparation:
1. Boil the potatoes and carrots in their skins until tender, and boil the eggs. When ready, cool and peel the ingredients.
2. The first layer of the salad: grate the potatoes on a fine grater, salt and grease with mayonnaise.
3. The second layer: grate carrots on a fine grater, salt.
4. Third layer: dice the onion.
5. Fourth layer: mash the sprats with a fork.
6. Fifth layer: grate the eggs, salt and grease with mayonnaise.
7. Sixth layer: grate cucumbers, and brush with mayonnaise.
8. Seventh layer: grate the cheese. Put the finished salad in the refrigerator for a while.
