An air raid alert notification goes off on Oksana Zabuzhko's phone right during a press conference at the Berlinale

The artist is one of the jurors of the 74th Berlinale, which began on February 15. However, the unforeseen situation was caught on camera and went viral.

Oksana Zabuzhko explained to the audience that the notification marked the end of the air raid alert in Kyiv, which had been on since the morning. With this unplanned gesture, she once again reminded the world of the war in Ukraine.

This year, the writer officially joined the jury board of the Berlin International Film Festival. This is the second time in the history of the Berlinale that a Ukrainian representative has joined it.
