OksanaStefanovna Zabuzhko is a famous Ukrainian poet and writer.
Brief biography
Oksana Zabuzhko was born in Lutsk, September 19, 1960
The future writer received her basic education at home.
In 1968 Zabuzhko and her parents were forced to flee to Kiev, fearing repression.
In the capital she finished high school, and later graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy of KNU.
She taught at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Kiev. She taught at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Kiev.
Since 1989 she has been a senior researcher at the Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
In 1987 Oksana Zabuzhko was admitted to the Union of Writers of the Soviet Union.
From 1992 to 1994 she was a teacher in the United States of America. At first - at the University of Pennsylvania. Later, after receiving a scholarship from the famous American Fulbright Foundation, she taught at Harvard and the University of Pittsburgh.
In 2001, she was a lecturer of literary skills at KNU.
Openly supported the Orange Revolution in 2004.
She took part in the Revolution of Dignity, actively opposed the then regime of Viktor Yanukovych. Later she participated in a special project of the National Museum of the Revolution of Dignity called "Arsenal of Freedom".
Speaks out against Russian aggression in Donbass and the annexation of Crimea. In particular, in 2018, she supported a letter from Ukrainian cultural figures calling on world leaders to ensure the protection and release of Ukrainian political prisoner in Russia, filmmaker Oleg Sentsov.
Poems
Oksana Zabuzhko's poems were to become public for the first time at the age of nine - her first collection, the introduction to which was written by the famous Ukrainian writer and playwright Mykhailo Stelmakh, was scheduled for circulation in 1973. However, as a result of repressions, Zabuzhko's parents were on the "black list" and the printing of the collection was canceled.
Zabuzhko was able to publish her poems for the first time only in 1985, publishing the poetry collection "May Frost". In addition, Oksana Zabuzhko has published five more poetry collections.
Creativity
Oksana Zabuzhko is popular thanks to her prose. The greatest fame was brought to her by the work "Field Studies of Ukrainian Sex", written and published in 1996. In addition, the following works should be noted:

- <b>"The Tale of the Kalinova Dudka </b>" - the story was translated into Polish, Czech and Farsi, published in 2000.
- <b>"Museum of Abandoned Secrets </b>" - a novel from 2009.
- <b>"Notre Dame d'Ukraine: Ukrainka in the Conflict of Mythologies</b> " - dedicated to Lesa Ukrainka - the work was published in 2007.

Oksana Zabuzhko often appears on the air of Ukrainian and pro-Ukrainian radio stations and TV channels, such as Radio Liberty or UA: Radio Kultura.
In her blog she recalls Russia's crimes against Ukrainians, touches upon topical religious issues, expresses her opinion on the war in Donbass, Ukraine's domestic politics and the post-revolutionary situation.
