Monatic was stopped in the center of Kyiv by the TCC staff: the singer made a statement. Video

The TCC and police stopped the famous Ukrainian singer Dmytro Monatik on Khreshchatyk, in the very center of Kyiv. According to preliminary information, they were checking his documents.

Witnesses managed to film the artist, and the video was distributed by one of the Ukrainian Telegram channels. The celebrity commented on the incident on his Instagram page.

According to the singer, the TCC workers "politely asked if he had updated his data and asked to see his military ID". He noted that he had the document with him and had recently updated the necessary information. "This is not the first check, because I travel a lot between Ukrainian cities and such checks are carried out constantly, as well as for all citizens of Ukraine," he said in the post.

Earlier, the dancer said that he should not waste his energy on hatred of Russians. Monatik himself noted that he concentrates on love for Ukraine instead, and only feels negative emotions towards the Russian authorities. "I have hatred for the government that does this. The government fogs the brain, fogs thoughts, and covers up the truth. There is a core from which everything grows. Hate for every Russian is not enough," he said in an interview.
