King Frederik X of Denmark and his wife, Queen Mary, hosted their first New Year's Eve dinner. At the gala event, where all members of the royal family were invited, Their Highnesses appeared in impressive images as if from a fairy tale.

According to the Daily Mail, the gala dinner marks a year since Frederick X ascended the throne, as his mother, Queen Margrethe II, officially abdicated the title of monarch. She informed the public of her decision on New Year's Eve.

Queen Mary wore a striking look to the gala. The monarch wore a dark green floor-length dress with lace sleeves as an accent. She added some interesting details with the help of massive jewelry, namely a diamond tiara, earrings, and a gold necklace. Her Highness chose nude shades for her makeup. The Queen of Denmark let her hair down and gathered the front strands behind her.

For his part, King Frederick X attended the New Year's Eve dinner in a traditional military costume. He paired a dark tailcoat and pants with golden stripes. The monarch added white gloves to the look.

Queen Margrethe II was also present at the gala dinner. She appeared in front of the audience in a long blue dress, complemented by a brown fur coat and heels. Her Highness wore her hair in a bun and added an interesting accent to her hairstyle with a tiara.
