The son of Queen Camilla of Great Britain and the stepson of King Charles III, writer Tom Parker Bowles has revealed the monarchs' "obsession" in which they have been competing for decades. Back then, the monarch decided to get alone with nature, leaving his relatives hunting grouse. He took a wicker basket and a stick with him and walked many kilometers near Loch Muick to collect chanterelles. The king's stepson noted that at that moment many people were passing by Charles III, but he was so engrossed in his favorite pastime that he did not notice any of them.

Camilla's son said that he and his mother could spend hours wandering through the forest looking for mushrooms. In 2007, the monarch went to the forest accompanied by security guards.

Representatives of the British royal family do not miss the opportunity to engage in their favorite hobby during official visits either. During his tour of the Far East, Charles III visited a forest in Japan, accompanied by Princess Takamado and writer C.W. Nicol.
