"I could tell you a lot of things too." Nazarii Yaremchuk's widow publicly responded to Oksana Bilozir, who criticized the movie about him
Daryna Yaremchuk, the widow of legendary Ukrainian singer Nazarii Yaremchuk, responded to the public criticism of the documentary film "Yaremchuk: The Incomparable World of Beauty", which tells the story of the musician's career. The artist reproached the authors of the film for not mentioning the performer's first family.
Oksana Bilozir expressed her opinion about the film in an interview with OBOZ.UA. Daryna Yaremchuk responded to the criticism in a post on her Facebook page.
According to Oksana Bilozir, she was surprised by the fact that the film about Yaremchuk, which was produced by his daughter from his second marriage, singer Maria Yaremchuk, did not say a word about his first wife Olena and sons Dmytro and Nazarii: "Why didn't they turn to the people who walked alongside him in life and influenced the formation of his talent? His first family is the brightest page in his history. Because he started with them, they were his inspirations. His wife sang in a band with him. It seems to me that the most important thing is the start, the beginning. The first steps, which are the most difficult, but also the most treasured in terms of memory."
"Everyone has the right to their own story," Daryna Yaremchuk briefly explained the absence of the singer's first family in the picture. She added in the comments to her Facebook post: "I could also tell a lot of things, but I will never be able to criticize anyone. Because Nazarii and I have spent the night at Ihor Bilozir's house in Lviv more than once. It would be nice to see a movie about Bilozir!"
As a reminder, People's Artist of Ukraine Nazarii Yaremchuk was married twice. His first marriage was to the vocalist of Smerichka Olena Shevchenko. This union gave birth to two sons, Dmytro and Nazarii.
In an interview, Olena commented on the reason for the divorce: "It was just that at some point we didn't want to meet each other halfway, and we just had to be patient, to wait. I left Nazarchik. And what came of it? Nothing good... Even when a lot of time had passed since our breakup, I missed Nazar. When we broke up, he didn't believe that I would leave until the very end. He thought: time will pass, I'll come back. He didn't believe it even when I got married again. And he married only when I had a child."
Nazarii met his second wife, Daryna, in the village of Tiudiv in Kosiv region. They were neighbors but did not know each other. Daryna raised her daughter alone after the death of her first husband.
"It seemed to me that I had known Nazarii all my life – I communicated with him so easily," Daryna recalled in an interview. "He is such a famous singer - and such a simple and sincere person. We didn't even notice how we talked all night. No one made any promises to anyone. But I realized that that day was a special day in my life. After Nazarii left, my brother Ivan, who introduced us, confessed what the singer had said to him: "It seems to me that we will soon become a family."
The couple got married, and two years later the Yaremchuks gave birth to a girl who was named Marichka in honor of Nazarii's mother. The father died when his daughter was just two years old.
The life of the legendary Ukrainian singer Nazarii Yaremchuk was cut short by a serious illness 29 years ago. The singer died of cancer in a Chernivtsi hospital.
In a conversation with OBOZ.UA on the eve of the anniversary of his death, the family and friends of the prominent Ukrainian revisited little-known pages from the artist's life. The musicians spoke about the singer's last years when he did not know what difficult trials awaited him. And also about the difficult months of his exhausting fight against the disease.
By the way, in the documentary "Yaremchuk. The Incomparable World of Beauty," among the famous colleagues who share their memories of the singer, there are no two legends from his inner circle – Vasyl Zinkevych and Sofia Rotaru. According to Maria Yaremchuk, the artists refused to participate in the film.
In an interview with OBOZ.UA, Pavlo Dvorsky, a friend and colleague of Yaremchuk, shared his thoughts on the situation. "Sofia Rotaru and Vasyl Zinkevych are great performers and have done a lot for Ukrainian song. You should ask them personally about the reasons for the refusal. But I think there will be more films about Yaremchuk, in which both Rotaru and Zinkevich will take part," Pavlo Dvorsky is sure.
