"An author lives as long as his songs are sung": stars honor Kuzma Scriabin's memory
Exactly 9 years ago, on February 2, 2015, Ukrainian activist and singer Kuzma Scriabin (Andriy Kuzmenko) died, and every year on this day his colleagues and other Ukrainians honor the star's memory. Even though a lot of time has passed, the pain of the loss is still felt as acutely as ever, so some media personalities cannot ignore the anniversary of his death.
We have collected some of the posts that Ukrainian celebrities dedicated to the brave patriot who was not afraid to tell the truth. Today, for the first time, her son's memory will not be honored by his mother, Olha Kuzmenko, who died in September 2023.
Singer Iryna Bilyk remembered her friend with warm words and called him "the soul of the people."
"We will miss you for a long time, my friend. Those who recognized the true soul of the people in time were lucky. If you had been with us, you would have definitely created a party with this name - "Soul of the People", and I am sure that it would have united all the creative people of Ukraine in favor of peace and goodness!" the artist wrote.
Her colleague Nataliya Mogylevska admitted that she still misses the singer and occasionally looks at photos of them together.
"Kuzma, I dedicated a song to you, in which I tried to convey all your great love for Ukraine. I constantly feel an incredible loss. I look through the archives. Memories of Kuzma are always light," the post reads.
The band Antytila posted a video from a concert where Taras Topolya said that Ukrainians did not have time to comprehend everything that Scriabin did.
"Kuzma passed away 9 years ago. His work does not lose its relevance over the years, but only becomes more firmly embedded in the DNA of every Ukrainian. The author lives as long as his songs are sung, so we pay tribute to Andriy," the musicians wrote.
Rapper Potap reposted a photo of himself with the legendary musician, captioned: "Kuzma, you are forever in our hearts."
The winner of the show "Battle of the Psychics" and famous molfar Maxim Gordeev reminded his followers of Andriy Kuzmenko's death with a touching video of his portraits.
Singer Nadia Dorofeeva, who covered "People Like Ships," shared the track and addressed Scriabin: "Kuzma, we miss you."
Vitaliy Kozlovsky, a singer and soldier of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, posted a photo with a laconic caption that he remembers the iconic artist.
