Ukrainian actress shares how Alla Pugacheva surprised everyone on the set in Kyiv: she was quiet and asked for comments
Ukrainian actress Tetiana Shelyha, who once took part in the creation of the musical film Chasing Two Hares based on the play of the same name by Starytskyi, shared how Russian number one singer Alla Pugacheva behaved on the set in Kyiv. Her fiancé, the barber Svyryd Holokhvistyi, was played by Maksym Galkin.
According to Tatiana, Pugacheva left her attitude at home and asked her colleagues on the set in Kyiv to make comments if a scene in the film did not look professional enough on camera. The Ukrainian artist told about this in an interview with OBOZ.UA.
"One thing I would like to say about working with Pugacheva is that she treated absolutely all the members of the team with respect," says the actress, who played a shop assistant at a local market in the film. "Please make comments because I'm a singer, not an actress, she would say. Nina Sharolapova, who played her mother, would sometimes make some. And she would listen. Alla even came to the set to meet the actress with the temperature above 38 degrees. And the same day she started filming. From time to time, she would sit down on a chair, take a break, and then go back to shooting. And then she had another business meeting. I don't know if I could have done it, but she said that people were waiting, and she couldn't say no."
"Of course, everyone was afraid of her, from administrators to producers," continues Shelyha, "but I only saw her unhappy a couple of times during the entire shooting days, and all the complaints were about business, not some madeup whims. It was comfortable to work with her, she was quiet, worked on a par with everyone else. At the end of filming, we all gathered for a buffet, and she came and sat with us."
As you know, the Galkin and Pugacheva couple oppose the war in Ukraine and left Russia in protest against Russian aggression together with children. "What do I think about Pugacheva and Galkin?" says Shelyha. "That they are people. They realize that Russia is an aggressor, that Russia is killing people. What happened the other day in Poltava is very scary. What about Lviv? Can normal people support this?"
