Ukraine made it to the Eurovision 2024 final: how alyona alyona and Jerry Heil performed

Ukraine's representatives at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, alyona alyona and Jerry Heil, have won a place in the grand final to be held on Saturday, May 11. The singers performed in the first semi-final at number 5.

According to the contest rules, the participants get to the final only based on the results of the audience vote.

A total of 26 countries will compete for the crystal microphone on Saturday, May 11, 16 of which are already known. Ukraine's performance was directed by Tanu Muiño, one of the world's most famous directors.

How alyona alyona and Jerry Heil performed

The audience in the hall and near the screens were impressed not only by the song and strong vocals of the Ukrainians but also by the powerful staging. The Ukrainian duo's performance began with Jerry Heil's spectacular exit from the rocks. Then she was joined by alyona alyona. The former appeared in front of the audience as a huge hologram. And at the end of the number, the singers lay on the stage as if surrounded by other women.

A rock was used for the Ukrainian women's performance, and their images contained elements of armor: chainmail, a sword, and natural colors. Earlier, they explained in an interview with Billboard that the song and performance primarily depict war and the fight against the enemy. That's probably why in the footage of the second rehearsal, you can see phosphorus bombs on the screens, which seem to be falling on the Ukrainians, who, in turn, are portrayed by Jerry Heil, climbing a mountain.
