The world's oldest man has died: he lived for almost 115 years and revealed the secret of longevity before his death
Venezuelan Juan Vicente Pérez Mora died at the age of 115. He was the oldest man in the world: in 2022, Perez Mora was listed in the Guinness Book of Records, overtaking the previous record holder, Spaniard Saturnino de la Fuente Garcia, who passed away at the age of 112.
This was announced by President Nicolas Maduro, El Nacional reports. The cause of death was respiratory complications.
The Venezuelan had 11 children, 41 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. He was also believed to be the last person in the world to be born in the 1900s, namely on May 27, 1909.
From a young age, Pérez Mora helped his father harvest sugar cane. The record holder devoted almost his entire life to agriculture and claimed that it was his hard work that helped him live to this age. In an interview with the Guinness Book of World Records, he said that he thanks God every day for the food he receives and for the people around him.
