The "Wednesday" star commented on the rape accusation for the first time in six months: My friends were threatened with death
The 21-year-old Canadian actor Percy Hynes White, who played Xavier Thorpe on the popular TV series "Wednesday," was accused of raping, molesting and sending nude photos of himself to girls six months ago. While the star's career and reputation were being destroyed, he stubbornly avoided commenting on the rumors, but decided to respond on June 7.
He said he did not know who organized the harassment, denied involvement in the accusations and asked not to threaten his family and friends. The corresponding post appeared on the celebrity's Instagram-stories (to see the photo, scroll to the end of the page).
"Earlier this year, someone I had never met started a campaign of disinformation against me. Because of this, my family experienced harassment and my friends were threatened with death. My friend Jane was falsely portrayed as a victim, and her attempts to set the record straight were ignored. She gave me permission to include her in this post," the actor began.
He assured that the rumors circulating online were not true. White resented being "portrayed as a bigot or criminally careless about people's safety."
"It is such baseless, damaging claims that can breed distrust in victims. It is very unfortunate to know that this misinformation has upset people. I am very grateful to everyone who has supported me and helped me share the facts. The harassment of my family, friends and colleagues must stop," concluded the 21-year-old.
Note that screenshots with intimate photos of the star circulated on the network many months ago. After that, rumors emerged as if the actor was abusing and bullying girls. On the network, some of them shared their experiences with Percy White.
Previously, OBOZREVATEL wrote that the lead singer of the band Aerosmith Steven Tyler is accused of sexual abuse of a minor. The incident occurred in 1973, when the musician was 25 years old.
