"The Wedding of the Year" continues: India's richest couple to throw a $73 million party with Prince Harry in the UK

Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant will continue their wedding celebration in the UK

Despite four months of wedding celebrations that lasted from March to July 2024, the son of India's richest man, Anant Ambani, and his wife, Radhika Merchant, are still planning parties in the UK. The couple is likely to host stars such as former Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Prince Harry at Stoke Park, a luxury seven-star hotel and country club in Berkshire with a top-class mansion and 27-hole golf course.

In 2021, Ananth's father, Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani, who is the chairman of Reliant Industries, leased a 121-hectare plot for $73 million. He planned to reconstruct the premises for his son and his fiancée. And while this idea is a great way to extend the celebration, locals are worried that the Indian rich will use the hotel for personal purposes, HELLO writes.

Using part of his estimated $116 billion fortune, Mukesh plans to repair the leaking roof and cracks in the walls, saying on the website that "the premises suffer from neglect and lack of investment." It added: "It will require significant funding to restore what has been lost while modernizing the mansion to modern requirements."

Meanwhile, the golf course reportedly "does not live up to the spectacular holiday atmosphere and is not among the top 200 golf courses in the world." They are considering "re-opening the east gate and using the area currently in use as a green complex to accommodate a new modern clubhouse. Planning permission has recently been granted for 4 luxury villas to be created on the site."

The Ambani's have reportedly reserved the commercial property until September for their use, which is causing concern among the town's residents. According to the Financial Times, Mukesh had a falling out with the local council over the sudden closure of the hotel to visitors. Stoke Park's law firm, Withers, wrote a letter to the council, insisting that Reliance Industries representatives and their families have occupied Stoke Park "from time to time", which is "consistent with the hotel's permitted to use".
