The iconic Canadian singer Celine Dion has been battling a serious neurological disease, muscular stiffness syndrome, for a year now. The 55-year-old artist's sister Claudette shared the disappointing news that the star's condition has worsened. In particular, she is allegedly no longer able to control her own muscles.

"She works hard, but she no longer has control over her muscles. What breaks my heart is that she has always been disciplined. She always worked hard. Our mother always told her: "You'll do it well, you'll do it right." It is true that in our dreams and hers, the goal is to return to the stage. As what? I don't know," Claudette commented.

In addition, the singer's relative is worried that such negative dynamics could affect her voice and heart.

"The vocal cords are muscles, and the heart is a muscle too. That's what comes to mind," added Sister Celine Dion.

It should be noted that the website of Johns Hopkins University in the United States reports that muscle stiffness syndrome occurs in one or two people per million. And in cases where a patient is diagnosed with this condition, they and their family have more questions than answers, as the disease has not been sufficiently studied and there are still no guidelines for its treatment. This syndrome causes the body to attack its own nerve cells and disrupts muscle mobility.
