The death became known on his birthday: a Kyiv actor who recited poetry in the trenches and inspired Ukrainians died at the front

Kyiv actor was killed at the frontline

Kyiv actor Philip Winner (Dedkovsky), who had been defending Ukraine from terrorists for more than a year, was killed in a battle with Russian invaders. The news of the brave defender's death became known on 9 July, his birthday.

The hero would have turned 32 years old. This was reported on the Honest Theatre's Facebook page (to see the photo, scroll to the bottom of the page).

"Our actor, Philip Winner, is forever in service. The family of our theatre is impoverished. From the first days of the invasion, Philip defended our land in the hottest spots. But he continued to live for the theatre. On his page you will see poems from the trenches. He brought theatre with him to the war. Russia killed him. We will not forgive him. Our sincere condolences to his family and friends," the theatre said in a post.

On his page, the actor posted photos and videos from the frontline. He often recorded himself reciting poems by iconic Ukrainian poets from the trenches, holding a weapon. His sensual videos inspired and delighted his followers.

Philip Winner served with the 26th Separate Infantry Battalion, which visited the hottest spots in the Donetsk sector.

The deceased soldier was not only a member of the CHESNYI Theatre, but also a former member of the Kyiv Zhyvyi Theatre and the KNUKiM Drama Theatre. At the front line, the soldier was supported by his colleagues who sent him parcels and words of gratitude.

Earlier, OBOZREVATEL wrote that Andriy Volkov, the sound engineer of the Kirovohrad Regional Philharmonic, was killed in the fighting for Ukraine. He was 47 years old.
