The Cannes Film Festival presenter hurled an award at the Palme d'Or winner: a curious moment captured on video
American actress Jane Fonda, who was presenting awards at Cannes Film Festival, found herself in a curious situation. Presenting the Palme d'Or to this year's winner, French director Justine Triet, she hurriedly threw a scroll at her. It hit the winner right in the head.
But the winner of the prestigious award did not even notice what happened. The embarrassment was captured in a video that was posted online (please scroll to the bottom of the page to see the photo and video).
Jane Fonda handed the winner the scroll and the award. However, when the director made her speech, she put all her things on the podium, from which she no longer took the scroll.
The presenter noticed it when Triet was already leaving the stage. She tried to get the star's attention, but she steadily drifted away.
Emotional, Fonda had no better idea than to throw a scroll at Triet. It flew right into her head, which made the audience in the audience laugh, but did not puzzle the owner of the Palme d'Or.
