Who won the MTV Video Music Awards 2024

The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) took place on the night of September 12 in New York City. The evening was hosted by rapper Megan Thee Stallion, and some of the most famous names in the entertainment industry were among the guests and contestants.

And that's not counting those who took to the stage: Sabrina Carpenter, Camila Cabello, Halsey, Lenny Kravitz, Shawn Mendes, and Eminem. This was reported by People. Special attention was paid to Taylor Swift, who broke the record for the most awards in the history of the VMAs.

The ceremony summed up the music year, recognizing the most striking videos, artists and songs released from June 2023 to June 2024. The organizers also introduced new categories – "Most Significant Performance" and "Best Trending Video" which were determined by the audience's vote.

The winner of the evening was Taylor Swift, who officially became the most-awarded artist in the history of the VMAs. She received seven awards out of twelve nominations, including five wins for her collaboration with Post Malone. The singer now has 30 MTV statuettes in her collection, five more than Beyoncé, who had a previous record of 25 wins as a solo artist before this year's show.
