"Survived the most terrible and extreme situations": Jolie touched by footage of little Ukrainian girl and flooded village after Kakhovka hydroelectric power station explosion

On International Refugee Day, which is celebrated annually on 20 June, American actress Angelina Jolie supported Ukraine. She shared a new post on Instagram, where she has 14.5 million followers, and was the first to show footage from our country. The artist noted that she bows to everyone who bravely accepts the blows of fate.
Brad Pitt's ex-wife introduced her audience to a little girl from Bucha who posed in an embroidered shirt. She also showed the village of Afanasivka (Mykolaiv region) after the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station (to see the photo, scroll to the bottom of the page).
"Refugees are people who have fled war, violence, conflict or persecution and crossed a border in search of safety in another country. Above all, they have survived the most terrible and extreme situations on earth. They deserve our respect. On this day, please take a moment to think about the more than 100 million displaced people. Tens of millions of children. To all my refugee friends. I am honoured to know you and to honour you today and every day," Jolie wrote.
In the selection, the actress also showed heartbreaking footage from South Sudan, Palestine, Bangladesh and Lebanon.
In the comments, Ukrainians thanked Angelina Jolie for mentioning our country and her warm words. "Thank you very much for supporting Ukraine," "You are very kind and understanding, thank you," "You are a real angel, Angelina," "You have a huge heart, love from Ukraine," they read under the post.
As OBOZREVATEL recently reported, actress Catherine Deneuve recited a poem by Lesya Ukrainka at the opening of the Cannes Film Festival. The actress could hardly hold back her tears as she recited the lines of the Ukrainian poetess. To find out more, follow the link.
