"Star Wars" star Ray Stevenson died: he felt sick on set
The day before, May 22, in Italy, died 58-year-old British actor Ray Stevenson, famous for his roles in the movie "Star Wars", "Thor," "Divergent" and others. He became ill on the set of the film "Casino on Ischia."
Stevenson was urgently hospitalized, but at Rizzoli Hospital the actor could not be saved. The exact cause of death is not specified, Variety reporters reported (to see a photo, scroll to the end of the page).
The talented actor was born in 1964 in Northern Ireland. He participated in the filming of the TV series "Vikings", "Rome" and "Medici". In addition, the actor starred in the Hollywood adaptation of "The Three Musketeers" in 2011, as well as in the films "King Arthur" and "Divergent".
In the Marvel movie saga, Ray Stevenson appeared as Volstagg, a close friend of Thor, the god of thunder. A TV series with Stevenson, "Ahsoka," is due out in 2023.
Interestingly, the Briton also tried on the role of a Ukrainian. In season 7 of the series "Dexter" he played the main antagonist born in Kyiv named Isaac Sirko.
