Sold out to Russia! Steven Seagal, Emir Kusturica and others: five celebrities who supported the Kremlin in the war against Ukraine

Some stars supported dictator Putin

Although the civilized world - ordinary people, politicians and stars - condemned Russia's terrorist war in Ukraine, a few still sold out to the Kremlin and publicly encouraged the genocide of Ukrainians. These celebrities sold their honor and principles for bloody rubles and the Kremlin's favor.

They made no mention of the suffering of Ukrainians bravely fighting the occupiers. OBOZREVATEL will tell you about cultural figures who ignore Russian terrorism and call on Ukraine to surrender (to see the photo, scroll to the end of the page).

Steven Seagal

Hollywood actor and director Steven Seagal, known for his friendship with dictator President Vladimir Putin, was granted Russian citizenship in 2016. He comes from a family of Jewish immigrants, but for some reason he calls himself a "million percent Russian" and a "Russophile."

He appears in Moscow regularly, and in 2022 he said he visited the occupied Donbass. The actor is not squeamish about shaking hands with propagandists, the dictator and his entourage, each time emphasizing that he belongs to the culture of the terrorist state. In 2018, Seagal even started working for the Russian Foreign Ministry for free.

Oliver Stone

American movie director, screenwriter and producer Oliver Stone, known for his pro-Russian stance, did not hesitate to accuse Ukraine of Russia starting a full-scale war. He cynically calls the Kremlin's terrorism a "peacekeeping mission"

Stone directed the four-part propaganda film "The Putin Interviews", which received mostly critical praise outside the Russian Federation. After the liberation of Bucha from the Russian occupants, Stone urged against the belief that Putin's military had committed war crimes.

Roger Waters

Former member of the British band Pink Floyd Roger Waters, a fanatical supporter of Russia in the war, has repeatedly faced condemnation because of his stance. He brazenly claimed in an interview that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Ukrainians "crossed a lot of red lines that have been clearly marked by the Russian Federation for several years."

He also issued that Ukraine needs to accept Putin's terms. Waters has been listed in the "Peacemaker" database since 2018, but despite this, he was caught up in a scandal when he wrote a letter to Ukraine's first lady Olena Zelenska asking her to influence the Ukrainian leader's policies.

Emir Kusturica

Serbian film director and musician Emir Kusturica also boasts of his acquaintance with the Russian dictator. For this, his performances around the world are canceled and the star is condemned.

Kusturica agreed to take over the position of chief director of the Central Academic Theater of the Russian Army. The Serbian musician has friendly relations with the Russian Defense Minister - Sergei Shoigu, and he also accepted state awards from Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Earlier OBOZREVATEL wrote that propagandists decided to supplement this list with Hollywood actor Johnny Depp, but embarrassed themselves. Read more about the embarrassment at the link.
