"She seemed to be a patriot and spoke Ukrainian only": Dancing with the Stars producer Zavadiuk reveals how cunning wife of Medvedchuk Oksana Marchenko managed to get on the show

Ukrainian producer Volodymyr Zavadiuk, who worked on entertainment projects for STB and 1+1 TV channels, shed light on the participation of Oksana Marchenko, a controversial host and wife of former MP Viktor Medvedchuk, who was accused of treason, in the show Dancing with the Stars. She danced on the floor in 2018, accusing the channel's management of a "planned provocation" afterwards.

According to Zavadiuk, at the time, despite her husband's dubious reputation, the TV personality herself gave the impression of an adequate person and a patriot of Ukraine. The producer discussed this issue with Alina Dorotiuk on her YouTube channel.

For many Ukrainians, Marchenko's participation in the show was unacceptable, and that's why the fifth season was mercilessly criticized by society. The producer of the project emphasized that the host got on the show not because she was promoted by anyone but because of the interest of a certain part of the audience.

"At the time, Oksana gave the impression of an absolutely adequate, professional and understandable person who positioned herself as a patriot. She spoke Ukrainian and was against judges speaking any other language. But then it happened, as we all know. At that time, the channel - and this was the decision of a large number of people - invited different characters who were interesting to the audience. That's how she appeared in the project," Zavadiuk explained.

Now he has nothing to do with the presenter. During her years at STB and 1+1, the communication between Marchenko and Zavadiuk was, according to him, exclusively professional.

"Did she pay someone to do it or did she falsify the votes? No. You may have read the interview that somewhat scared me. Oksana said that inviting her to the show was a story invented by Kolomoiskyi, Tkachenko and Zavadiuk to discredit her family. I think everyone understands Oksana's attitude towards me," Alina Dorotyuk's guest added.

To recap, Marchenko danced with Dmytro Chaplin, and the couple left the show seventh. Later, Marchenko said in an interview that she agreed to participate in order to "stir up this swamp." However, the channel's executives said it was a "cynical, mean and insidious" plan to discredit her.
