Sean Connery died four years ago: how a milkman became James Bond and why he has no grave
Exactly 4 years ago, the world's first James Bond passed away - on October 31, 2020, the legendary actor Sean Connery passed away. The bronze medalist of Mr. Universe and the "Guardian of Scotland" had been struggling with health problems for a long time. The Oscar-winning actor passed away in his sleep at the age of 91.
Connery is remembered by moviegoers as a talented and truly creative person. During his career, he appeared in more than 70 films, acted in theater, and worked on television. However, the star's path was thorny and varied before he became a favorite of millions.
Thomas Sean Connery was born in the heart of Scotland, Edinburgh, to a laborer and a cleaner. At the age of 12, during the Second World War, the boy went to work for the first time to distribute newspapers. Later, the young Briton found a more stable job as a milkman.
Standing at 189 cm tall, 18-year-old Connery began his service in the British Navy. At that time, the future star got two tattoos, one of which he dedicated to his parents, and the second, the inscription "Scotland Forever," symbolized the soldier's love for his homeland.
While balancing school and work, Sean also had a passion for sports. From an early age he loved football and until his death he was a loyal fan and honorary member of the Rangers fan club.
Young Conery was also interested in weightlifting. He even took third place in the Mr. Universe contest, demonstrating his passion for bodybuilding. However, the celebrity gave up his career as an athlete, but he still exercised regularly.
Sean's acting career began with a musical, and later he appeared on television. In 1962, Connery got one of his most iconic roles - he became the first James Bond, starring in 5 films about the super agent. 22 years later, the Scottish actor received the coveted golden Oscar statuette for Best Supporting Actor in The Intouchables.
In 2020, the film community was shaken by the news that Sean Connery had passed away. However, after his death, fans were unable to visit the grave of their idol - the celebrity left a non-standard wish that was fulfilled by his family. In honor of Conner's 92nd birthday, his family spent three days scattering the actor's ashes across the country in his favorite places, as the Scotsman had bequeathed.
"We understand that Sir Sean's ashes were scattered to various places important to him in his life. It was all going to the final destination, which was Edinburgh and Dalmeny. It was all so secretive because it was Sir Sean's final resting place," friends of the celebrity said, according to the Scotsman.
